Supervisor – Assembly & Test

The Assembly and Test supervisor is responsible for the operational and fiscal activities of the department. The supervisor must plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department by performing the duties listed below. The pay range is $80,000 to $100,000 annually; the pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.
  • Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Drive productivity and operational cost reduction throughout the department.
  • Identify process improvements and work with manufacturing engineering to update work instructions as required.
  • Work with planning, purchasing, and stockroom teams to review material shortages and schedule accordingly.
  • Supervise employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct interviews, help in hiring, and provide employee orientation.
  • Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews. Drive daily accountability.
  • Responsible for scheduling work assignments, employee training, employee vacations and overtime assignment.
  • Schedule and conduct department meetings.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Has the responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of his and/or her assigned department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a production environment, aerospace preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and familiar with MRP system.
  • Knowledge of management and supervisory principles.
  • Positive attitude and strong leadership skills to drive high-performance teams.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Hydraulics and aerospace experience a plus.
