Facilities Engineering Manager

The Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance and janitorial department, including the operational and fiscal activities of the department. The manager must plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department by performing the duties listed below. The pay range is $90,000 to $115,000 per year; the pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department to include: staffing level, budget requirements, and overall facility needs and improvements. Communicate with all members of leadership directly on urgent facilities matters.
  • Responsible for designing and fabricating automated test, assembly, and engineering equipment.
  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the efficiency of the department.
  • Analyze and document maintenance processes and issues. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies across the department.
  • Maintain all factory equipment and manage preventative maintenance plan for 22 HVAC systems, 75 hydraulic test stands, 55 CNC machines, and 200+ pieces of miscellaneous equipment.
  • Manage projects, including coordinating the hiring of contractors, purchasing of required materials, and capital expenditure requests.
  • Responsible for scheduling work assignments, employee training, employee vacations and overtime assignment.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Has the responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of his and/or her assigned department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a production environment, aerospace preferred.
  • 3+ year of CNC machine shop, hydraulic testing, and overall facilities supervision preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and familiar with MRP system.
  • Knowledge of management and supervisory principles.
  • Positive attitude and strong leadership skills to drive high-performance teams.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Hydraulics and aerospace experience a plus.
