CNC Machinist (lathe)

Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up and operating lathes; maintains quality and safety standards; keeps records; and maintains the equipment. The pay range is $22.00 to $32.00 per hour; the pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and run 2 and 3 axis CNC turning centers.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, process sheets and work instructions to determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, dimensional specifications and machining to be done.
  • Loads control media in maching controller or enter commands to retrieve programs from file server. Makes minor edits to programs.
  • Performs own inspection utilizing precision measurement instruments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years minimum experience working as a CNC Machinist – Lathe.
  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools (calipers, mics, and gauges).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and travelers.
  • Well organized; detailed oriented; strong work ethics and ability to self motivate.
